The Persistence of Paper in Low-resource Setting - Panel

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Paper persists as a medium of information in low-resource settings and especially across the developing world. With this in mind, we have three broad goals for this open session:

i) encouraging participant accounts of the multifarious role of paper in the low-resource settings that they have observed in the course of their own fieldwork,

ii) evaluating the properties of paper that are uncovered through these accounts and that particularly contribute to their endurance in low-resource settings, and

iii) abstracting these properties to reveal design opportunities for improving existing paper tools and platforms, especially in situations where blanket digitization may be infeasible or expensive.
