The practical challenges and opportunities of obtaining, analyzing and taking evidence from mobile network big data to policy are buried in the fog of imaginations fuelled by hype and pessimism. This session goes to the heart of the issues, allowing the audience to engage with actual practitioners. In addition to showcasing concrete policy relevant applications of big data, the session will articulate the attendant challenges in obtaining data, ensuring privacy as well as in taking big-data evidence to developmental policy
