The ability to send money from mobile phone to mobile phone is transforming financial activity in many countries. Bangladesh is one of the largest mobile money markets and growing. To truly leverage mobile money for financial inclusion (i.e. to enable the poor to participate in formal financial institutions), grassroots level support and promotion is required. The organization BRAC will share its early learnings from a portfolio of projects using mobile money in education and microfinance and generate brainstorming on appropriate research frameworks to capture benefits to clients and organizations.
